Looked through old sketchbooks today and found an old drawing of @meganbatoon I did years ago. I’m surprised I how detailed I went on the hair, I had a lot of patience 😄

I love trying to control the messy chalky qualities of charcoal and pushing it around into a portrait ✍🏼 One of the more satisfying parts of making a drawing is watching the material come together on a 2-D surface and create the illusion of 3-D form

Finished this piece up. Colored pencil on crescent watercolor board and the black background is done with gouache 🎨 I used this as a demo for an upcoming YouTube video about how to improve your colored pencil art ✏️
